Warning:   Changing the affiliate payout on a product that is already being promoted by affiliates without a good reason is not a good way to make friends.

If you change the affiliate payout on an already configured product by editing the affiliate options after it is created the following will happen:

1.  All future affiliate sales will be recorded in Secure Delivery at the new payout rate.

2.  All affiliate sales that occurred before the change are already recorded at the previous payout rate that was in affect before you made the change.

Changing the payout rate does not affect past affiliate sales that you and the affiliates agreed to when they signed up!

3.  An email will be sent to all active affiliates of that product notifying them of the change as follows:

Hello,

The vendor for the affiliate product below has modified their product affiliate payout as follows:

Product Name:   $productname
Product ID:  $productid

Old Payout:    $old value % or $
New Payout:  $new value % or $

This change will be reflected in all new affiliate sales.  Affiliate sales already credited to your account will be reported to the vendor at the previously agreed payout rate.
