DPD integrates with PayDotCom to automatically deliver your products after PayDotCom notifies us of a successful payment. Because DPD must receive this notification before we can authorize a download, it's very important to enter the information DPD provides in to the PayDotCom administration panel carefully.
Because PayDotCom only supports "buy now!" instant checkout buttons all
PayDotCom products must be set up as standalone in the DPD system.
PayDotCom is not compatible with the multi-item Storefront cart system.
To set up a PayDotCom product in DPD:It is helpful to open two browser windows- One with DPD and one with PayDotCom so that you can quickly switch between the two.
Step 1: Create your PayDotCom ProductYou will need to enter your PayDotCom product ID in to DPD when setting your product up for automatic delivery. Because of this you will already need to have an active PayDotCom product configured in their control panel.
Once you have created your product, leave the window open and open DPD in a new browser window or tab.
Step 2: Create the DPD Product1. Log in to DPD
2. In the top blue bar, go to Products > Standalone Products List.
3. On the standalone products list, click the "Create New Standalone Product" button.
4. Enter your product name then select PayDotCom as the payment processor.
5. For the PayDotCom Product ID, do the following:
Go back to the PayDotCom window you kept open in in Step 1 above. Click on the "My Products" tab and select "View / Edit My Products" from the blue navigation bar at the top. Click the Edit link for the product you are setting up to work with DPD.
Now look at the page URL in your browser's address bar. At the end of the URL will be the PayDotCom product ID number. For example, if your URL is:
http://paydotcom.com/member.area.add.product.new.php?product_id=10329The number highlighted in
RED is your PayDotCom product ID number. Copy this number to the PayDotCom product ID field in DPD.
6. Create a secret code word for DPD to use when communicating with PayDotCom. This can be anything, but you should try to make it hard to guess. Random number / letter combination are the most secure choice.
Make sure you have filled out all fields as shown in the example screenshot below:
7. Once you have entered your PayDotCom product ID and chosen a secret code, click next to proceed to product upload.
8. Upload your product, then click next.
9. On the delivery options page, enter your contact information and configure your download limits. When done setting options click next.
10. Select your button and copy your link code to your website. Once you have selected your button click next.
11. On the final page DPD provides you with three pieces of information that will need to be added to PayDotCom. This information tells PayDotCom where to send your customers once they have paid as well as tells PayDotCom where to send the payment notification so DPD can authorize the download.
This information must be copied exactly as follows:
Paste the three pieces of info in to the "Edit" product page of PayDotCom:
If you closed PayDotCom previously, you can return to the edit product page by logging in to PayDotCom, clicking on the My Products tab and selecting "View / Edit My Products" from the blue bar. Click on Edit under the product you are setting up to work with DPD to open the following page:
YOU MUST CLICK BOTH SAVE BUTTONS AFTER ENTERING THE INFORMATION! THIS IS CRUCIAL! PAYDOTCOM WILL NOT SAVE ALL THE INFO IF YOU DO NOT CLICK BOTH SAVE BUTTONS!This causes a lot of issues, so click both save buttons twice to be sure. This corrects 90% of issues that DPD users have with PayDotCom!
Once you have clicked both save buttons your product is now set up and you are ready to start selling.
A quick reminder: For automatic product delivery to work you must use buttons generated by DPD. Never use the PayDotCom button generator buttons on your web page- always use the DPD buttons. If you do not use the DPD buttons PayDotCom will have no way of knowing where to send your customers when a download completes!
